How the symmetry index works
We reflect 12 pairs of points across the line from forehead to chin. Their average distance apart, divided by face width, gives a normalized mismatch. Our displayed index is 100 × (1 − mismatch), with a minimum of zero. This is our descriptive formula, not a clinically validated scale.
Natural differences are normal
Even small head turns or a smile can affect the measurements. A result near 100 describes the alignment in this image; it does not mean a perfect face, scientific accuracy, or a higher attractiveness ranking.
